An exclusive and “hot” fabric
For the Spanish producer of espadrilles Vidorreta, Schmid has created an exclusive product: Ramage, an iridescent lurex fabric with a floral design
In the past years, espadrilles, known in Spain by their traditional name, alpargatas, have gone from being a traditional slipper to a trendy footwear. The shoes have been reinterpretated many times by the fashion world and luxury brands have made the product evermore detailed and unique.
It is also the case of the famous Spanish brand Vidorreta, that has decided to use for the next season a tailor-made fabric created by Schmid. «It is a special fabric – explains Vittorio Onetti, the company’s general manager -. We combined a lurex mesh with a glitter fabric, creating a unique product in terms of sheen and touch. After which we printed a customised floral design, giving the name to the product: Ramage».
A recent but solid collaboration
Once again Spain confirms to be an interesting market for Schmid, as Onetti tells us. «The collaboration between Schmid and Vidorreta is recent but rests on a solid base. There is great trust and we are ready to work on other special items for future collections. This project validates our work philosophy. The client has the opportunity to work in close contact with our research and development department to create unique and exclusive products based on his style requirements».
