Futuristic and Naturalia are the trends identified by Schmid for the season

With clockwork regularity, the highly anticipated appointment with Schmid’s Trend Book, now an established tradition for our company, has once again arrived. Indeed, for each season, Schmid identifies, analyses and unveils to its clients a selection of the main fashion trends that will be seen first on the catwalks then in the stores.

“In the current market situation, you can’t limit yourself to answering clients’ requests,” said Paolo Ciccarelli, the company chairman and CEO. “One has to be enterprising and creative. You have to proactively collaborate in creating the collection. The Trend Book is one of the instruments used by Schmid to reach that objective.”

The spring/summer 2018 Trend Book: the trends

Schmid’s spring/summer 2018 Trend Book has identified two trends, Futuristic and Naturalia.

The Futuristic trend is innovative, modern and visionary. It is thoroughly minimalist with an athletic and high tech touch. It is characterized by iridescent colours as well as glassy and rubbery materials.

The Naturalia trend instead evokes the Earth. It is characterized by surfaces and textures that explicitly recall natural shapes and structures. Subdued and earthy colours prevail, while cotton plays a central part among materials.
