Velvet shoes are all the rage in the windows of Milan’s fashion stores. They often stand out for their originality and bright colours, thanks to the velvets provided by Schmid.

Schmid’s different types of velvets

The velvet Letizia (100% viscose), characterised by a long and shiny pile, is one of the most elegant products proposed by the Milanese company. To satisfy the needs of the fashion industry – that is increasingly demanding traditional fabrics such as velvet but with youthful and fresh tones capable of enlivening long grey winter days – Schmid proposes fabrics with fanciful and vivid colours such as electric blue, orange, mustard yellow and dark pink, along with the classic blue, black and purple.

This strategy is part of a wider project to increase the colour range. It involves the launch of Vittoria, a very bright sateen velvet, as well as the experimentation of various processing techniques on the evergreen velvet Grazia such as digital printing, hot stamping and quilting that enhance the fabric without altering the characteristics that guarantee its success.

Schmid’s range, which is already available, aims to refresh and continuously update a classical product thanks to exclusive finishings and a colour palette that offers 15 alternatives for Grazia, 14 for Letizia and seven for Vittoria.
