Schmid: Runway summer trends SS 2016
Which are the next trends for summer 2016 season?
Several inspirational ideas have highlighted the shows in Milan and Paris: this is how Schmid, fabric converter of the footwear and leather goods industry, has interpreted the trends in its fabrics and materials. Let’s look at this in detail.
Lurex Glamour
Designer’s choices are clear: bright tones and fabrics with shiny threads lead the way. Woven jacquard paired with ottoman, rich sand effects and sequins for a prestigious evening look. These themes are recognizable in Schmid’s sablé and its canneté with lurex thread.
Satins and laminated fabrics
A flowing shine identifies the theme and satins play a leading role. Light reflecting fabrics, opaque textures and laminated surfaces, next summer season will be marked by a new feminine sensuality mixed with chic elegance. These traits are recognizable in Schmid’s shiny and stretchy satins and in its article Elle, an innovative lycra with a stretchy lamina.
Denim, a natural revolution
One of the most important international trends for next summer season is the reinterpretation of a natural and wild mood. Denim is back, with its different declinations: classic metallic laminated jeans and marbled PVC with a washed look. This trend is expressed by our Joil, a laminated denim, but also our glazed canvas.
Cotton and espadrillas
An outdoorsy and contemporary look inspired by the spanish espadrillas.
The luxury catwalks have shown a strong presence of cotton canvas and rugged textures developed with technical yarns. Schmid offers the Big canvas or its Alaska, a polyester bourette with a natural feel.
Embroideries and transparencies
Lace, embroideries and mesh transparencies are ever-present. Geometric, flower and animal prints dominate the scenes, like flocked evergreen polka dots and crocheted patterns. Following the trend Schmid offers a crocheted leopard print and dotted flock on mesh.
Floral lace
A romantic trait, revalued by strong and sensual women. Lace turns to modern: floral weaves dyed in vigorous hues cover elegant clutches and PVC coated lace used for posh summer sandals. Enriched fabrics complete Schmid’s collection, with articles like Pizzo Lil and Rete Fiore.
Print Crazy
Florals run the show with all over digital prints. Traditional chine lines blend with animalier designs, on basic satins made of silk or viscose to accentuate lush and technicality.
PVC & Glitter
ìContemporary fashion is made of glitter and vinyl. Fabrics with sprinkled multicolor polyester powder, PVC and PU glazed surfaces cover futuristic uppers for modern space travelers. In this theme, imagination and extravagant decorations with a modern touch. Two examples? PVC Pen and Cristal, multi powder glitter fabric.
