Schmid and Milan’s Accademia di Brera: a promising partnership
Students’ creations from the Textile Culture course were hosted at the company’s Lineapelle stand. Sparking major interest from industry players
Schmid’s commitment to the students of the Textile Culture course of Milan’s Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera continues. The class is part of the two-year specialization in Fashion Design and is taught by Professor Livia Crispolti.
Schmid’s collaboration with the Textile Culture class began last autumn, at the beginning of the academic year. Schmid supplied fabrics and other materials that students used for their creations and experiments. The articles provided by Schmid stimulated students’ fantasy, creativity and craftsmanship. Reinterpreting and re-elaborating their materials, each student produced one or more prototypes, some of which impressed the Lineapelle public for their originality.
In that occasion, Schmid set aside a section of its stand for their creations. Students thus had the opportunity to present their work to industry players in a highly professional context.
Synergy between training and industry
Schmid firmly believes in the need to encourage synergies between job training and industry. And it’s for this reason it continues to invest resources and efforts in partnerships designed to offer concrete professional opportunities to the most deserving and talented students who, it hopes, will be the fashion designers of tomorrow.
