René Caovilla picks Schmid for its denim sneakers
Synonym of craftsmanship and elegance for over 80 years, the Italian footwear manufacturer has chosen one of Schmid’s natural fabrics for its luxury sneakers
Creativity, constant research in the use of materials and a craftsman’s attention to detail, thanks to these qualities René Caovilla has represented for more than 80 years a benchmark of Italian style in footwear; a style that has conquered boutiques worldwide. And now, Schmid is a partner of this success story.
The product: René Caovilla’s Queen model
René Caovilla’s running Queen stems from this collaboration. It is a model produced using one of Schmid’s natural fabrics; a stone-washed denim, wholly made of resistant cotton. Stone-like embroideries, rhinestones and gold inserts embellish the fabric – of a classical light-blue jeans colour – and enhance one of the key models of René Caovilla’s spring/summer 2016 collection.
A valuable collaboration
“The collaboration between our companies originates from Caovilla’s need to integrate in its collection ordinary fabrics but that combine quality, strength and resistance. Materials capable of adding value to the products, concretely applying the stylistic research of this company,” explains Schmid’s sales director Silvio La Cava.
But, there is more than meets the eye. The meshes used for the production of the Caovilla’s “crown jewel shoes” are also supplied by Schmid.
More and more natural fabrics
The marketplace appreciates the quality of Schmid’s natural fabrics, which are without doubt above average and allow designers to achieve their ideas thanks to a reliable product. It is not a surprise that for 2017 Schmid has increased its offer in this segment. Among new natural fabrics is the stretch denim, with a wide range of very bright colours.
