Schmid’s technical sports fabrics see the light of day

In the coming days, Schmid will present two new sports meshes: Sahara and Kalahari. They will be accompanied by the high-quality nylon Road

The sneakers fashion is prompting many designers to propose sportier items. For this reason Schmid created a new range of technical sports fabrics, in order to meet the market’s requests”. This is how Silvio La Cava, Schmid’s sales manager, presents the new fabrics: Sahara, Kalahari and Road.

Two sporty meshes

Sahara and Kalahari are two ultra-light double-knitted padded meshes, that guarantee the upmost breathability. The fabrics are also very resistent in the assembly phase. «These characteristics enable to tackle extreme  conditions such as the desert, hence the names Sahara and Kalahari», explains La Cava. «Indeed, they are two very versatile products capable of fulfilling the needs of many style departments. They differentiate themselves by the size of the mesh and can be used for elegant or more sporty models».

A high-quality nylon

Along with the two meshes, Schmid is presenting an item with enhanced technical characterics: Road, a nylon with a high refractive index, made with a weatherproof material and available in nine colour variations.

«This item opens the way, hence its name Road, to a series of fashion productions, its iridescence suits very trendy footwear. And the quality of the product is very high», said the sales manager.

In July, the compay will start presenting the new products to clients. But Schmid is already planning the next steps. In the coming months, the range of technical sports fabrics will be increased with the creation of a more elaborate mesh. But that is another story…
