Graphic…and scenographic: PU from Schmid’s 21 S/S
The 2021 S/S collection by Schmid includes four extremely colourful fabrics in polyurethane.
Flexibility, water resistance, transparency, in a wide variety of textures and colours: polyurethane, also known as PU, is a very fashionable material in elastomeric fibre. Unlike PVC, it contains no phthalates. Next spring many accessories will be based on polyurethane as it is more eco-sustainable and is unmistakably soft and elastic.
The 2021 S/S collection by Schmid includes four extremely colourful fabrics in polyurethane, which are just perfect for sandals, sporty sneakers, boots and all those technical and non-technical items that need to be extremely comfortable, sustainable and long-lasting.
Schmid’s PU comes in two versions: a thin, thermoprinted version with a rubber-like and opaque feel. This category includes Cayman, a very bright fabric with tiny prints creating a pattern that recalls the scales of a crocodile; and Giove, a printed PU whose graphics feature overlapping, floral geometries that create special effects and 3D optical illusions.
The second version is thickened PU with a rubber-like, bright and transparent feel. Like Ravenna, a material featuring varnishes that create a bright mosaic effect, or Elvis, characterised by geometric prints.
The PUs of the new Schmid collection are presented in the section dedicated to plastics. Discover them with just a click!
