Glittering in New York
At the fashion show organised for the Resort 2016 collection designed by Marc Jacobs, Schmid was present thanks to a product made especially for the American designer
Schmid’s (good) habit of producing special materials for fashion houses continues. In June, it was Marc Jacobs’ turn. Schmid produced for the American designer a polyurethane incorporated with glitter, displayed on the New York catwalk during the presentation of the Resort 2016 collection.
“We tried to satisfy their request,” explains Melissa D’Innella, head of Schmid’s US desk. “They asked us for some advice and we proposed this type of solution. Compared to a common PVC, our product is softer and more suited to women’s clothes, especially for making details, cuffs and collars”.
“It was a great satisfaction for our company,” said Paolo Ciccarelli, Schmid’s CEO. “We have been working with Marc Jacobs for a while in footwear and now in apparel. It’s the result of the good work we are doing. We managed to produce in a few weeks a special product that is obtaining a great success.”
