Fall/Winter 2017-18: what the market had to say
12 months ago Schmid presented the Trend Book for the season now underway.
With the first trade fair appointments to present the new Fall/Winter 2018-19 collection, it’s time to take stock at Schmid of the Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection that we’ll shortly see, interpreted by our clients, in the shop windows of the major European countries.
The research and subsequent development of individual materials, carried out by the company throughout the year, has led to commercial success for three types of products in particular.
The world of glitter interpreted in a high-tech fashion
Glitter and lurex predominate, for creations that on one hand are very elegant and sophisticated like Spark Flakes, and on the other very technical, created with the expert and original use of PVC.
Stretch adds up to elegance
The world of elasticized products has also been re-evaluated for the most elegant footwear.
Indeed, the winter season is dominated by dizzying thigh-high boots made with stretch fabrics , lurex, iridescent materials or even more sporty materials.
Among these are stretch lurex, elastic velvet and elastic satin, a flagship Schmid product.
The real stand out
Velvet was the best seller of the season and at Schmid the classic Grazia and Letizia collections were enriched with new hues, while Vittoria, a shaved velvet, was proposed to clients alongside new striped, stretch velvets.
And now attention is focused on the Fall/Winter 2018-2019 collection that the Milanese company presented with the seasonal Trend Book and via appointments in London and New York ahead of the summer. Schmid is gearing up to unveil the collection in Paris and Milan at the beginning of autumn.
