Spring/summer 2016: on trend materials for handbags
Leading the runway shows, and now the boutiques: here are the on trend fabrics for the season.
All over worldwide magazines and the windows of the most important shopping streets. Spring/summer 16 handbags show off stylishly: shapes, colors, and materials especially, the season’s fashion trends are all about irony, patchwork and shoulder straps. But there is also room for mini-bags. Schmid has its say about the most fashionable cult materials.
1.Denim couture
A 70s symbol, this fabric seduced designers. Once James Dean and Elvis Presley were an icon of this material, and today Chanel selects it for its accessories declining it with a modern feel. Denim is an ageless passion; natural touch, accessibility and quality are the key points of this trend, to which creativity and flair are blended: embroidery for Valentino and patchwork for Roger Vivier.
2. Printed satin allure
Schmid well knows the art of fashion, the feminine touch that distinguishes it and the intriguing flowing look. Opaque or laminated, printed satin walked the runways settling in boutiques worldwide. Patterned mini-bags, decorated purses and sequin covered clutches: the fabric used is what these it-bags have in common.
3.Mesh: a see-through experience
Summer is light like the mesh fabrics used for Spring/summer 2016: crossbodies or shoulder bags. The accessory becomes bold, and stiff shapes cross with slouchy ones, like pouches, bucket bags and sacks shaped with embroidered and geometrical mesh.
4. PVC and transparency
The last fabric trend involves the material of the future: PVC. Starting from Chanel’s futuristic shoes to Valentino’s see-through bags, transparency can be elegance and playfulness. Schmid interprets the clear look with its signature PVC, expression of a contemporary mood.
