For this reason, Schmid’s new 2020-2021 Fall/Winter collection features fabrics with a silky and velvety touch yet with a decidedly exuberant feel: extremely thin glitter bases, embroidered meshes, pleated knitwear, satins and stretch velvets. One common thread: lurex. This material shines again in Schmid’s collection, matched with houndstooth or camouflaged jacquards and tweeds.

Versatility, elegance, resistance and great aesthetic impact. The fabrics are strongly oriented to brightness and add luxury and sophistication to bases that are already important and rich in themselves: such as Daister, a pale print on fine glitter; Quebec, a thermoformed velvet with polka dots drawings; or Major, a lurex jacquard featuring a camouflaged and multicolour pattern.

Particular technical prowess is shown in the embroideries of abstract flowers on twist threads, such as the Oleandro mesh, or the flock prints on thin glitter that create a velvet-like effect, such as Gardenia.
